Uneven recovery of European high street rents

In Paris, none of the shopping areas analyzed by Ascana has recovered its pre-pandemic average annual income, while Rome and Milan reach, and even surpass, 2019 levels. The fashion capitals are pursuing recovery at an uneven pace.

In 2021, average annual rents for a retail space in the main avenues of Paris, Amsterdam and Lisbon failed to reach pre-pandemic levels, while, in Athens, Milan and Rome, most prime axes already match 2019 figures, according to data collected in Ascana’s High Street Retail Report 2021.
